TOUR NO.5.PADONG LONG NECK AKHA MEO HILL TRIBE

Visit chiang dao shrine cave national park and visit Hmong (meo) hilltribe village ,visit pang dong long neck and visit elephant at work at chiangdao conservation . visit orchid farmid farm

Long Neck Karen Tribe
The most popular Karen tribe around Chiang Mai is the Long Neck Karen Tribe. Women from this small population are known worldwide for wearing rings around their neck to elongate it. In the past, it was a protection from tiger attacks, today it’s considered a symbol of beauty and modern day accessory.
Prior to our travels we decided to make some researches about touristic visits of the Karen Tribes villages. We do not want to support any kind of tourism that is not ethical or harmful in any way. The same goes for spending a day with elephants in Chiang Mai.
We discovered that the Karens, even after years of living in Thailand, are still being refused a Thai citizenship… They have limited access to electricity, roads, health care and schools. Furthermore, Thai authorities forced some Karens to move to villages created with the sole purpose of tourists entertainment. Those people are exploited in exchange of tourists money that mainly goes to the government. |

TOUR NO.6.LAMPHUN AND LAMPANG ELEPHANT CONSERVATION
Elephant Conservation Center
lephants are important animals of Thailand. That people have been loving and paying their attention to those elephant for so long. They’re sometimes like members of families. They’re not suppose to be tease, bully, or torture. Most of Thai people can’t accept things like these.Despite the importance, some elephants are still treated badly from some humans. Therefore, many Thai elephants care and conservation centers were established in many provinces, including the one in Lampang which will be mentioned here in this article.Elephant Conservation Center at Lampang is a great place to stimulate people’s love of elephant. Those elephants at the center are taken care perfectly. There are both healthy elephants and ill elephants. The scenery is totally natural, which is good for both elephants and people. It’s also an important place for the tourism of Lampang. The province is another popular northern Thai province. And this place is a place that you should go.There are many interesting activities waiting for you there, all of which are good for people of all ages. You can have a great time with your family and friends for sure.
Start with elephant show, the show requires about 40 minutes or so. You’re gonna love this for sure. You join the show, and you will see elephants do many cute things, for examples, painting, pushing logs, playing with the mahouts. Beside, you should see how talented these mahouts are. They are able to control the elephants, make the elephants do many things. They communicate with the elephants by a specific controling language or body motion. This will be exciting and joyful. You are ablel to watch the show 3 times a day, at 10:00am, 11:00am, and 13:30pm.
Next, you will want to see the elephants taking a bath. That is super cute! The mahouts will take the elephants down to the pond and clean them. You can see this show at 9:45am and 13:15pm, only two times a day. Therefore, be punctual or you will regret it! Don’t you ever miss it!if you have a child or an elderly member in family, you may want to take him/her on an elephant’s back to have a wonderful sightseeing. There will be seats being tightly tied on every elephants’ backs. You just go up, have a seat, and the mahout will be with you too, in order to keep the elephant walking around. You will have a chance of seeing cool water and green forest area. You can choose your own time period for the trip, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour, depending on your time and money.
If you love the elephant so much and even want to take care of them, you may join a course from mahout-training courses. These courses will train you to be a good mahout. There are many types of course, from one-day course to over-night course. Just choose the one that suits you most. The best part is probably elephant’s poop paper. Huh? But that’s true, however. There is a kind of paper that is really made of elephant’s poop. You may have heard about Elephant Poopoo Paper Park in Chiangmai. Yes. This activity is similar. You will also have a chance of observing how this kind of paper is made. Its name may sounds kinda weird to you. But, believe it, when the papers are finished, they look really beautiful. You can take photos with those elephants, but please only do that when the mahouts are with you, for your own safety. You can also walk around by yourself to see some exhibitions of elephants, with pictures and texts, to get some new knowledge.
Lastly, Visit elephant hospital. Thai Elephant Conservation Center acts as a centre for research and is at the forefront in treating sick elephants in Thailand. In addition to an on-site hospital, a mobile clinic and rescue unit treats elephants in distress free of charge wherever they may be in the kingdom. There is also a special area (the Pang La sanctuary) dedicated to looking after those elephants that are simply too old or have been badly injured and their former owners can no longer afford to keep them. Some of the elephants that are brought to Elephant Conservation Center suffer from preventable injuries and part of the centre’s outreach program is the Elephant Care Manual which is combined with practical tips and advice for mahouts and owners to teach them better ways to look after their elephants. Your visit will help pay for a high-cost elephant hospital that treats the sick and injured ones from around the country.
Wat Phra That Lampang Luang: introduction
Wat Phra That Lampang Luang (วัดพระธาตุลำปางหลวง) is about 16 km southwest of the city Lampang. It is one of the most revered temples in North Thailand and attracts lots of, mainly local, visitors. People regard it as one of the must-see temples of North Thailand. The temple is unique with its solid walls and location on an ancient man-made mound. The part of the temple within the walls is centuries old and has not been altered much. This gives Wat Phra That Lampang Luang such a unique atmosphere.
Diagonally opposite the temple, there is a huge parking lot with lots of food stalls to cater to the visitors. Apart from that, there are a number of horse carts parked along the main road, with which you can make a short tour around the temple.
It is an extensive fortified temple complex with many structures and an interesting museum so allow at least 45 minutes to visit. Most people probably will spend more time than that. Before the construction of the temple, which dates back to the so-called Golden Age of the Lanna Kingdom (15th century) there might have been a site of worship here in the time of the Mon kingdom Hariphunchai This kingdom existed roughly from the 7th until the late 13th century.

Wat Phrathat Haripunchai Woramahawihan is situated in the centre of Lamphun city and surrounded by roads on all sides: Asadharos Road to the North, Chaimongkol Road to the South, Ropmueang Road to the East, and Inthayongyos Road to the West. It is about 150 metres from the City Hall and was built in 1108, during the reign of King Athitayarat. Items of interest in the area of Wat Phrathat Hariphunchai include: – The archway: Before entering the temple area, you will pass a brick arch with mortar decorated with intricate patterns, which is ancient craftsmanship of the Sriwichai period. It consists of a tiered arch. In front of the arch is a pair of lions standing on a 1-metre high platform. The archway was built during the reign of King Athitayarat when he dedicated the palace to be a sanctuary. – Wihan Luang: When passing through the arch, you will find a large temple called “Wihan Luang”. There is a balcony all around the Wihan with a porch at the front and the back. It was built to replace the old Wihan in 1915 to be used for merit-making ceremonies and daily religious activities. The interior enshrines 3 Buddha images made of brick and cement and gilded in lacquer on a glass pedestal, and there are many medium-sized metal Buddha images in the early and middle Chiang Saen periods. – Phra Borommathat Haripunchai is located behind Wihan Luang and enshrines the Buddha’s hair relics in a gold urn. The chedi consists of a lotus-shaped base with miniature glass beads. Next to the lotus base is a three-tiered circular base that supports a round bell. The chedi is similar to Phrathat Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai. There is a two-storey porch, which has a fence of iron and brass with a golden samphao enshrined on the outer fence. Both the north and south directions have arches and the four corners are tiered. The towers on the 4 sides contain Buddha images in every tower. There are also lanterns and altars erected for lay Buddhists to worship. Phra Borommathat Haripunchai has been an important sanctuary in Lanna since ancient times. On the full moon day of the 6th lunar month (May), there will be a ceremony to worship and bathe the Buddha’s relics every year. According to history, in 897, King Athitayarat of the Raman Dynasty, who ruled Lamphun, built a gold urn covered with relics inside that has been reinforced in many subsequent periods. Later, in 1443, King Tilokarat of Chiang Mai renovated the chedi to be a new Lankan style that appears today. Phra Suwan Chedi or Pathumwadi Chedi is located on the right side of Phra Borommathat and was constructed in the 12th century by Queen Pathumwadi, consort of King Athitayarat 4 years after Phra Borommathat was completed. Phra Suwan Chedi is a square prang shape of the Lavo style. There is a Buddha image in the facade of the Khmer style. The top of the Chedi is covered with brass, and under the lower base is a room containing amulets.
